Proud to be a gold-standard Cat Friendly Clinic

We are proud to say that Prince Bishop Vets is a gold-standard Cat Friendly Clinic, which means that we have been accredited by International Cat Care for our exceptional standards of feline care.

International Cat Care’s iCatCare Veterinary Society is the veterinary division of the International Cat Care, a charity who dedicate their time to improve the health and welfare of cats.

They work closely with practices to ensure that they are providing the best care possible for cats within their care.

We understand that bringing your cat to the vets can be stressful, so we have worked hard to ensure that the process is as relaxed as possible.

What does this mean?

You can be confident that our practice has met the iCatCare accreditation standards and is fully equipped to deliver the best care for your cat.

  • All members of our team, from our reception team to our veterinary professionals, have undergone training on how to interact with cats, understanding their needs for a gentle and calm environment.
  • New team members are informed of our feline friendly status and are given training on what this entails, including how to handle cats and the environments they prefer.
  • All team members adhere to a no-scruff policy, as we understand that this can be highly stressful and uncomfortable for your cat.

Our building has also been designed to help improve your cat’s experience. For example, we have:

  • A separate waiting area for cats with a raised area for cat baskets and blankets to cover your cat carrier while you wait.
  • A separate cat ward with soft closing doors, extra quiet cat clippers, dimmable lighting, calming classical music and a pheromone diffuser. Our cat accommodation also includes somewhere to hide and a raised platform to suit different personalities.
  • Our cat ward also includes a small table, which can be used for minor procedures such as placing cannulas, taking blood samples, blood pressure readings and applying dressings. This means that cats can stay in a calm environment while having these procedures performed, reducing stress levels.

Our cat advocates

Our cat advocates, Florence and Melanie, make sure that our cat friendly standards are always adhered to.

Both Florence and Melanie have owned cats for many years, and work with our team to ensure that every cat that visits our practice has the best experience possible.

Our cat advocates will also be happy to answer any questions you may have and chat to you if you have any concerns regarding your cat’s visit.
