Clinical Director, Veterinary Surgeon

I am originally from Yorkshire and graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2013.  I came to work at Prince Bishop Veterinary Hospital the same summer and I have thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of my job since starting here.  My main interest is in medicine and I am currently undertaking an additional qualification in this area, which I hope to have completed by spring 2018.  I became Clinical Director of the practice in June 2016 and I’m really enjoying the challenges of this new role.

I own two rescue dogs, a Patterdale called Fig and a Whippet called Reggie. Outside of work I enjoy going to the beach with the dogs, visiting friends and watching films.

Veterinary Surgeon

Veterinary Surgeon Jacqui Molyneux has been in practice for over thirty years. “I graduated in 1981. I have always worked in Small Animal Practices and I opened PBVH in 1984.  I always had an interest in surgery which has culminated in achieving my Certificate in Small Animal Surgery.  This is a Post Graduate qualification recognising my particular interest and ability in surgery.”

Jacqui is an active member within the wider field of veterinary practice. She was President of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and has also served as President of the Society of Practicing Veterinary Surgeons. Today she still takes active roles within the Royal College and has proven to be an exceptional advocate for the betterment of her profession.

GillianDr Gillian Brown BVSc MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

I qualified from the University of Bristol in 1996 as a veterinary surgeon. After completing an internship at the nniversity I spent some time working and travelling in New Zealand and Australia before coming back to work at Prince Bishop Veterinary Hospital in January 1999. When I am not at work I enjoy spending time with my family, baking and walks in the country



GemmaDr Gemma Taylor BSc BVSc MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

I graduated in 2009 from Bristol University. I spent six months in practice in the south west before joining Prince Bishop Veterinary Hospital in March 2010. I am keen on all aspects of animal practice but I’m particularly enjoying increasing my surgical experience with the endoscopy and keyhole surgery equipment. In my spare time I enjoy looking after my little boys Daniel and Rowan and spending time as a family, keeping up with friends, going to the cinema and nice walks in the country.

Veterinary Surgeon
I originally grew up in the North East and in 2014 after spending 5 years studying at the University of Nottingham I returned to the region and started working at Prince Bishops. I really enjoy my job and I have a particular interest in animal behaviour.
I am  studying for a further qualification in behavioural medicine which will allow me to help clients with any concerns they may have.
Outside of work I enjoy spending lots of time out exploring the countryside with my dogs; 8 year old Staffy Cross Zara and her partner in crime the German Wirehaired Pointer Wilf. We also like to do a little bit of agility, scent work and fun tricks to try and keep them out of trouble. I have two elderly horses, Tigger a Clydesdale/TB who takes great pride in acting like a 4yr old whilst out hacking and his little companion Mickey who is very handy with his back feet!

Veterinary Surgeon

I qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in London after 7 years of study where I completed two degrees – Bioveterinary Sciences and Veterinary Medicine. I am originally from the North East and am extremely excited to be moving back to work here. In my spare time I enjoy horse riding and looking after my guinea pig called Mo.


Veterinary Surgeon

I graduated from Glasgow Veterinary School in July 2016 and started working at Prince Bishop Vets in October. I am really enjoying the job so far, I love talking to clients and helping look after their pets. I like all aspects of general practice but I particularly enjoy surgery and I think it is something I may pursue further in the future. In my spare time I enjoy exploring the local countryside, baking and spending time with my friends and family.

I started working at Prince Bishop Veterinary Hospital in 2002, originally as a Nursing Assistant. In my time here I have completed my nurse training and various management courses to help me in my current role as Head Nurse.

I have a little rescue dog named Scruff and 4 sheep.

Clinical Head Nurse

I started working at PBVH at the age of 16 as a nursing assistant. I have since gained alot of experience as a senior nurse gaining a diploma in Veterinary Nursing in 2012 and a further certificate in emergency and critical care in 2016. I completed clinical coach training in 2016 which means that I am a mentor to student nurses assisting and providing support during their training.
In January 2017 I was promoted to clinical head nurse which means that I am now in a managerial position overseeing and supporting the nursing team to ensure that the high standards of care are maintained day to day for our patients and clients. The new job certainly has its challenges but I have embraced these and am enjoying the role.


Sarah Mawson

Registered Veterinary Nurse

I qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2014 and love my role within the team.  I have a particular interest in anaesthesia and inpatient care. I have recently completed training to become a clinical coach and look forward to helping student nurses achieve their dream job. I have two rescue lurchers, a cheeky Labrador and a horse  who I enjoy taking on adventures and caring for outside of work.



Amanda Dobson

Registered Veterinary Nurse

My name is Amanda, I qualified in January 2017 and have worked in practice since 2012. I enjoy caring for our inpatients and have an interest in dental hygiene. In my spare time I enjoy walking and socialising with my dogs.



Amy Chaytor

Registered Veterinary Nurse

After 2.5 years of hard work and training, I am now a Registered Veterinary Nurse.  I hope to continue my education and further my knowledge and skills over the coming years. In my spare time I enjoy riding my horse and walking my three dogs



Rebecca Barrass

Registered Veterinary Nurse

I graduated in 2015 from Nottingham Trent University with a foundation degree in Veterinary Nursing. I have an interest in physiotherapy and rehabilitiation, and completed a certificate in this last year. I particularly enjoy working with patients following orthopedic surgery. I own two Guinea-pigs called Fizz and Willow, and a Horse called Lady, which keep me busy outside of work.

Emma Watson

I am thoroughly enjoying my time here at Prince Bishop Vets, I really do love it, I particularly enjoy the customer service side and caring for the animals.
Previously I worked in a restaurant in Beamish when I was studying etc but this is definitely the working environment I have always wanted to be in as I do have a great love for animals, It’s great working with a team that cares so much about them.

I started my time at Prince Bishop Vets as a receptionist and was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to do my nurse training which started in this year and has led me on to do my Veterinary Nurse Training, I am enjoying learning new things in the nursing profession and excited to learn more.

Melanie Sterling

Nursing Assistant

I started working at Prince Bishop Veterinary Hospital in June 2015 and I can safely say that I am loving every minute of it. This is the ideal position for me as I love meeting new people and adore animals. I have 3 cats and 2 turtles and in my spare time I enjoy going for walks, cycling, days out and spending time with my fur babies.

After finishing studying a national diploma in Animal Management at Houghall College I came to work at Prince Bishop Veterinary Hospital, this was over 5 years ago now and I feel I have learnt a lot in my roles as nursing assistant and receptionist. I enjoy working with the public and caring for their pets. When I am not working at Prince Bishop Vets I am at home caring for my son Bailey and in my spare time I enjoy meeting up with friends.



Karen Railton

Office and Reception Team Leader

I started working at Prince Bishops in April 2016 as a receptionist. I love my job and working with such a great team.
In January 2017 I was promoted to Reception and Office Team Leader. I am really enjoying my new job role, the challenges it brings and I am learning so many new skills.
I’ve worked in veterinary practices for over 15 years and achieved qualifications in animal care and veterinary nursing. I am also a registered SQP, which is an animal medicines advisor.
I have 3 Guinea Pigs at home Twinkle, Rosie and Lily/Ella (depends which name my daughter wants to call her that day). In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my daughter, family and friends


Cassie Brown


I joined the Team in December 2016, after working in the travel industry for 6 years and I have to say this in the best move I have ever made. I have always enjoyed working with people and now I get to work with animals too. From being little I have always had dogs in my life, mostly Staffordshire Bull Terriers. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my 2 dogs Belle, who is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, and Minnie who is a Bichon Frise.

I have worked as a receptionist at The Prince Bishop Veterinary Hospital for nearly twenty years. In that time I have built up good relationships with many of our clients, I’ve also completed many courses to help improve customer service and feel I am a friendly and helpful member of our team. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my husband, our children and four grandchildren. I also like to keep fit and often attend classes and the gym with friends.

I studied Archaeology at The University of Birmingham from where I received a BA and also an MA in Heritage Management which included finance and marketing modules.  I have been working at Prince Bishop Veterinary Hospital for 5 years now and I enjoy the variety of my job from day to day administrative tasks, looking after the PCP Discount plans to managing the reception shop and being able to greet your lovely pets in the waiting room.

Practice Administrator / Accounts

I have been part of the team here at Prince Bishop for a total of 17 years. I originally worked here as a nurse for 6 years but took time out when I had my eldest daughter.

I then came back as a receptionist, at the moment my role is varied. I am currently practice administrator which includes completing insurance forms for clients and invoices etc whilst also covering reception when needed. I am very committed to providing our clients with good customer service.
